Sabeer Bhatia:
The man behind the “HOTMAIL” is Sabeer Bhatia and he was an “Indian American Entrepreneur”. Sabeer born on December 30, 1968 in Chandigarh, India. His parents Baldev Bhatia who was an officer in “Indian Army” and his mom Daman Bhatia, she works as a senior officer in “Central Bank of India”.
He did his schoolings in “Bishop Cotton’s School” located in pune and later at “St Joseph School” in Bangalore. After schoolings he joined the “Birla Institute of Technology” at Pilani, Rajasthan. He did his BE in California Institute of Technology, US in 1988. Then he did his ME in the field Electrical Engineering in Stanford University.
Sabeer Bhatia’s career:
- Sabeer was inspired by many legends lecture like Steve jobs, Scott Mcnealy and Vinod Khosla and he also got a job in Apple as a System Integrator.
- Then he left Apple and joined in Firepower System Inc as a hardware engineer.
- And he also worked as an advisor for Cloudeas.
- In 4th July 1996 he and his colleague jack smith founded and introduced HOTMAIL. It is a world’s 2nd largest e-mail provider with over 369 million users next to Gmail service.
- And then he sold HOTMAIL to Microsoft in 1998 and he worked there for about a year.
- In 1999 he left Microsoft and started
another company named Arzoo Inc which is an e- commerce company.
- Then he developed blog because of the demand for new art blogging.
- Sabeer also released “Live Office”
which is like MS Office in which customer can share and edit docs online and
also in offline.
- Then he joined Sabse Technologies from there he launch “sabsebolo.com”. It is a Cloud Based Teleconferencing System.
- In 2011 he launched “jaxtr”; it is a free mobile to mobile telephone technology.
Sabeer’s Awards:
- He became the Entrepreneur of the year 1997 given by Draper Fisher Jurvetson.
- He was awarded as TR100 for one among 100 young innovators by MIT.
- One of the successful Entrepreneurs of 1998 given by San Jose Mercury News and POV magazine.
- “Elite 100” was given by Upside magazine for the list of top trend setters in the new economy.
Currently he was in
the board of “live Documents”, co-founder & CEO of “Sabse Technologies” and
advisor of “Cloudeas”
