Shiva Ayyadurai was an Indian and an American scientist who invented email in 1978. He was born on 2^nd December 1963 in Bombay. He and his family left India and went United States in 1970.when he was fourteen he attended a summer program in Courant Institute of Mathematical Science in New York University. In that program, he gets the knowledge about the computer programming.

  
Shiva Ayyadurai did his high school in Livingston. Meanwhile, he also worked as a researcher in the University Of Medicine And Dentistry Of New Jersey. During that, time he invented a full-scale emulation of the interoffice mail system, which is now called as EMAIL and he got copyright for email in the year 1982. He did his UG in electrical engineering and computer science, and master degree in visual studies. He also did another master degree in mechanical engineering and finally he obtained Ph.D in biological engineering all from the MIT media laboratory, and in 2008 Shiva ayyadurai was awarded as a Fulbright US student for his study of integration in sidda.

 Shiva Ayyadurai’s other inventions like echo mail, cytosolve, integrated medicine. And his interests like funding and supporting other entrepreneurs by innovation crops. His aim was to popularize sidda, which is the ancient Tamil medical system. And also integrate sidda with modern medical system that provide holistic medical care to the people.
